FRANCIS SOLOMON

The refugee with a heart for others

Francis Solomon had to flee Liberia as a 10-year-old. After many years in a refugee camp, Francis came to Norway when he was 19 years old. Francis first lived in Ørsta and now lives in Austrheim. He has completed an education, got a job, a certificate, started a family and built a house.

In 2011 he published the first book about his life, now in 2019 came the sequel,

"I am a refugee, not a criminal". In 2019, he took back his childhood name Francis Solomon.

Through the work on the first book, the idea was born to help some of those who have remained in Liberia. To achieve this, Francis took the initiative to establish a foundation with the aim of helping children  in a vulnerable situation. With him on the team he got a number of local people and some businesses.

The purpose of the foundation is to help children in Africa and especially in Liberia to a better life by providing the children with care and knowledge over a long period of time. To achieve this, the foundation focuses on education for those who need it most.
